Bortoletto talked about how he prepared for the heat in Singapore.

Ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, the FIA issued a warning about the heat during race weekend for the first time. Sauber driver Gabriel Bortoleto said that while preparing for the round he worked on the simulator wearing several hoodies to recreate the hot conditions.

"Before the event I trained in hot conditions, practically in a sauna," Gabriel Bortoleto said in Singapore. "And on the simulator I worked by putting on several hoodies. I tried to simulate the heat, but the problem is that you don't get as tired behind a simulator wheel as you do behind the wheel of a real car.

How did I come up with that? I couldn't sleep at one in the morning, and I thought, 'Why not try working on the simulator while wearing several hoodies?' The idea just came into my head, and I went through with it!

But to be honest, I don't think it's going to help that much. You can't prepare for a race like that in a week. You need to train all year, and do it properly. I think I'm ready, and everything will be fine."
