Pierre Gasly: My participation in Le Mans is still a long way off.

Last weekend Max Verstappen won the four-hour race on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife on his first attempt, driving a GT3 car. Pierre Gasly believes it’s only good for motorsport that the current Formula 1 champion is trying his hand in different series. The Alpine driver added that he is also ready to try his hand in another category, but the right conditions would have to be in place. “I like different kinds of racing, but at the moment it’s not so easy to arrange my participation elsewhere,” Pierre said in Singapore. “If you’re going to do something, you need to do it properly, right? You need to train, run the car in, work with people you trust and who can provide the right setup. Right now I don’t have that option, because a project like that requires more energy. Now is not the right time, but I hope the opportunity will appear in the near future.” When asked about a possible entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Alpine, Pierre said: “There’s talk about it, but again, it all comes down to finding the right time and doing everything properly. We’re a long way from being able to do anything worthwhile.”
