Hulkenberg: We have a chance of a good result in Baku.
On Thursday in Baku Nico Hülkenberg spoke about the failure in Monza, where he was unable to start, and about plans for the upcoming weekend…
Question: Nico, has the team figured out why you couldn't start in Monza?
Nico Hülkenberg: Yes, of course. Obviously at the time we were very upset about that non-start, but there was nothing to be done. We found the causes and took some measures so it won't happen again.
Question: Do you think the Baku circuit suits your car?
Nico Hülkenberg: Here you need low downforce, like in Monza, where we were competitive. Baku requires similar setups, but there are differences. If you look at the last five or six weekends at different tracks, overall we have been competitive everywhere. Nothing indicates it should be any different here.
I think we'll be fighting in the midfield group of teams, where the results are very tight. The difference between 10th and last place is very small, so you just need to do your job well and cleanly. But we have a chance to achieve a good result here.
Question: Baku is often called unique, but in your view, which circuit does it most resemble? Jeddah? Monaco?
Nico Hülkenberg: No, this track isn't like others. It's really its own.
Question: In your opinion, at which tracks this year will you be quick?
Nico Hülkenberg: If we talk about the stretch after Barcelona, we looked decent everywhere except Zandvoort. At the other tracks we scored points. That shows the car is competitive at different circuits.
