Whitely: We are taking an important step now
Jonathan Wheatley, the head of the Sauber team, which will become Audi F1 next year, views the future optimistically.
Jonathan Wheatley: "We talked about how important progress is for the team. At Silverstone, I saw that people are starting to believe in us. We are gradually gaining momentum, increasing performance. Matías Binotto’s hard work is paying off. The road to our goal is still long, but we are taking an important step at the beginning of this journey.
At the start of the season, the car was not sufficiently stable. I remember in Jeddah both drivers had problems even with braking in the first turn. Now we don't even mention it. After the updates introduced in Barcelona, both drivers feel confident in the car and can push it to its limits."
