Pierre Gasly: The result matches our level.

Pierre Gasly finished eighth in the sprint and tenth at the São Paulo Grand Prix, earning Alpine's first two points since the July round in Spa over the weekend. His team-mate Franco Colapinto did not score, finishing fifteenth in the race.

Pierre Gasly (10th): "I'm very happy to have scored another point today. But I'm a bit disappointed that we couldn't score more, because the car had a higher pace than we were able to show. I think if I'd been in a higher position at the start of the race, that would have had a positive effect on the result.

That said, I'm not complaining. We scored one point, which reflects our level in recent races. The team will analyse the gathered data to understand what could have been done better so we can improve next time.

For most of the race I battled with Isack Hadjar. I passed him twice into Turn 1, and then he got me back twice at Turn 4. It was one of those battles that could have gone differently. Closer to the finish I was simply trying to hold on to tenth place.

The weekend was very positive, as in every session we fought in the top ten. It seems the Brazilian track suits me!

We will now take a short break, after which there will be a preparation day in Enstone for the final triple-header of the season."

Franco Colapinto (15th): "Given my starting position, I faced a tough race. The morning rain had stopped, and everyone was running at the same pace with two pit stops. In the end, I finished almost in the same position I started and couldn't achieve more.

After the sprint the car had to be completely rebuilt. After that I didn't have the same feel for the car and couldn't find a rhythm. The stability dropped and the car started to slide more. In turn, this led to increased tyre degradation, so during the race I had to manage their condition.

We have a lot to analyse to come back stronger in Las Vegas and finish the season successfully. Overall, we hoped for more this weekend. Pierre did a great job and scored another point, which will give the team a boost."
