Aston Martin acknowledges that a technical overhaul is underway.

"A technical restructuring is set to be officially announced soon."

There are widespread rumors in Brazil that Aston Martin is undergoing a significant technical restructuring, with several senior engineers reportedly being let go from the team. According to various sources in the paddock, among those leaving are Eric Blandin, the esteemed head of aerodynamics who joined from Mercedes in 2022, and veteran designer Akio Haga. Speculation indicates that Adrian Newey, who is heavily involved in the new 2026 project, played a key role in the rearrangement. When approached for comment, a team spokesperson did not specify any individuals but confirmed that changes are forthcoming. "Aston Martin is undergoing a technical restructuring which will be officially announced soon," the spokesperson stated. "We do not discuss internal matters."

This shake-up coincides with reports that Marco Fainello, a crucial figure during Ferrari's Schumacher era and the creator of the Scuderia's first F1 simulator, is expected to join the Silverstone team. Fainello, who has recently focused on advanced AI simulation research, would represent a significant return to Formula 1 after a 13-year hiatus.

In the meantime, Lance Stroll has dismissed recent rumors suggesting that he sought his father's approval to leave F1. Speaking at Interlagos, the Canadian labeled the reports as "fake news," while acknowledging that 2025 has been a challenging season. "I think we’ve done well on some weekends where the car has been competitive," he stated. "However, there have also been many weekends where we haven't been as competitive as we aspire to be as a team. So, yeah, there are four more races to go - and then next year will offer a new opportunity for everyone."
