Aron and Maini will test for Alpine in Abu Dhabi.
Alpine reserve drivers Paul Aron and Kush Maini will take the wheel of the A525 in tests in Abu Dhabi next Tuesday.
Before that Aron will take part in the first Friday practice, replacing Pierre Gasly. Maini will, in the tests, try a modern Formula 1 car for the first time — until now he has only tested cars from previous years.
Paul Aron: "I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the A525 this weekend in Abu Dhabi for my third free practice session with the team this year. Previously I drove in Monza and Mexico City, which greatly helped my development as a driver.
Last year I was pleased to take part in the post-season tests, and I’m grateful to the team for giving me this opportunity again. I will do everything I can to help the team deliver a successful race weekend."
Kush Maini: "In the tests I will be able to properly try the A525 for the first time. I know the Yas Marina circuit well from Formula 2, and it will be interesting to compare that experience with driving a Formula 1 car. I’m grateful to the team for their trust and will do my best to work through the programme the team has set out."
