Isaac Hadjar: I was unlucky with the yellow flags
In the wet qualifying for the Las Vegas Grand Prix both Racing Bulls drivers advanced to the qualifying final. Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar hope to score points in Sunday's race.
Liam Lawson (6th): “Crazy qualifying, but I'm very happy with sixth place. The fact that we had to use wet tyres in the first and second parts, which we rarely put on the car, shows how slippery the track was.
The car was quick, but I lost a bit of time on the final lap. I think the car's pace and the opportunities available would have allowed for a higher position. Nevertheless, both cars made it to the final — a great result.”
Isack Hadjar (8th): “In qualifying we did everything perfectly in terms of timing our runs and the attempts themselves. I immediately felt comfortable behind the wheel on the wet tyres, and I was able to confirm the pace in the second session. Although it's a bit of a shame that I only managed eighth in the final, as my last run was quick.
I believe I started my attempt last, and at that moment the track was at its best, but unfortunately I was unlucky with yellow flags.
I don't know what to expect from tomorrow's race, since in practice we weren't able to properly work on long runs. We need to use the data we've already gathered to develop a strategy to score important points!”
