Isaac Hadjar crashed his car in the first part of qualifying for the United States Grand Prix, failing to set a lap time. Since Hadjar formally failed to be within 107% of the fastest time in the first session, Racing Bulls had to seek permission from the stewards for Isaac to take part in the race. The stewards allowed Isaac Hadjar to start the race in Austin from twentieth place, taking into account his results in other sessions over the weekend.
