Massa has decided on the amount of compensation.

Felipe Massa has decided on the amount of compensation in his lawsuit against the FIA, Formula 1 and Bernie Ecclestone, whom he accuses of collusion and criminal negligence in the 2008 season after Nelson Piquet Jr.'s deliberate crash in Singapore.

We reported that the hearing of this ugly affair will begin on October 28 in London. The driver's interests will be represented by lawyer Nick De Marco; they are seeking damages of £60 million ($82 million).

Felipe Massa: "Holding those responsible to account will help prevent similar fraud in the future. Those entrusted with protecting the sport have directly breached their duties; we cannot allow them to benefit from concealing their own wrongful conduct.

Such behaviour is unacceptable in any sphere of life, especially in a sport watched by millions of people, including children. We will see this case through to the end to secure a fair and honest outcome — for me, for motorsport in Brazil and for sport as a whole."
