      "Cadillac is set to attract more new partners"

      Zak Brown has addressed ongoing concerns about Cadillac's confirmed entry into Formula 1 in 2026, asserting that the presence of the American company will ultimately benefit the sport and its teams. In an interview with Dutch magazine Formule 1, the McLaren CEO acknowledged initial worries that General Motors’ new team might dilute prize money or lure away sponsors and staff; however, he emphasized that the benefits outweigh these risks.

      "In terms of personnel, I think they’ll attract more talent than they’ll take away," Brown remarked with a smile. "But that’s perfectly fine. If someone decides to join a competing team, then as a team principal, I need to reflect on how I can improve."

      The team, which was previously managed by Michael Andretti before he stepped down, has its European base in Silverstone, situated in the heart of F1’s engineering hub. Speculation is now increasing regarding who will drive for them in 2026, with Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Drugovich strongly rumored as contenders.

      Nevertheless, Brown is optimistic about the commercial prospects. "In terms of sponsors, I believe Cadillac will attract more new partners than it will lose," he stated. "Will we secure a better American TV deal and increased American involvement? I think so."

      "Their sponsors and Cadillac will inject funds into the sport, and ultimately, all the teams will benefit from this."

      "I’m not concerned about short-term challenges, like losing a few employees or sponsors," he continued. "The overall contribution they bring will far exceed these issues."

      Rumors of Sergio Perez's return are being fueled by his former physiotherapist. Xavi Martos, who closely collaborated with Perez for several years, suggested that the Mexican driver may be preparing for a 2026 return to Formula 1, possibly with Cadillac.

      "I think people have overlooked one detail," Martos mentioned on the Duralavita podcast. "Checo has a new manager—I don’t know if you have heard. He had Julian (Jakobi) previously, and now he has a new manager. I wonder why he made that change? If you intend to retire from racing, hiring a new manager wouldn’t be a typical step."

      After being let go by Red Bull at the end of 2024, Perez has also recently been connected with Alpine, amid growing uncertainty regarding Franco Colapinto. Cadillac, still a possibility, is believed to have secured Valtteri Bottas.
