Esteban Ocon: The Budapest stage is special for me.
Haas drivers Esteban Ocon and Oliver Berman scored points in the sprint race at the last round in Belgium. The team hopes to confirm their form at the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix.
Team principal Ayo Komatu: "It's hard to make predictions for the upcoming round, but the Budapest track requires high downforce setup, and overtaking is as difficult as in Monaco. In Monaco, we were competitive and scored points together with Esteban, and since then we have improved the car.
Most of the improvements are related to fast turns, but any upgrade helps, and thanks to the updates introduced in Silverstone, we have a solid foundation for further work.
If we do everything correctly, find the necessary balance for the car, and the drivers perform to their potential, I have no doubt that we will compete at a high level."
Oliver Berman: "I'm very glad to return to Budapest. Last year, I took part in the first practice session, and I can say that the track is very cool, similar to a city circuit with many turns and a long lap. The event will be exciting for the drivers.
It will definitely be hot, but I’m looking forward to it after Spa. I hope we end the first half of the season with a strong result."
Esteban Ocon: "The Budapest round is special for me because I scored my first F1 victory here. Returning to this city and track always brings back good memories. For our team, it’s important to confirm the form shown in Spa, where we had a good pace, especially in the sprint qualifying and the sprint itself.
Hungaroring has always been one of my favorite circuits on the calendar. Overtaking here is challenging, so a lot of focus is on performing well in qualifying. We will try to prepare as best as we can to achieve a good result on Saturday and Sunday and to go into the summer break in good spirits."
