Williams marked the halfway point of the season with a team photo.
Yesterday, the entire Williams team gathered at the Grove base for a special occasion to take a group photo, which included almost all staff members, with only minimal exceptions for valid reasons.
The first half of the season is behind us, and the team is holding 5th place in the Constructors' Championship, something that hasn't happened in probably eight years. Importantly, Williams is once again on the rise, regularly competing for points, and everyone is united by the desire to achieve even higher results and set increasingly ambitious goals.
At Spa, the Williams car will receive its final package of updates for this year, designed over several months based on information gathered during pre-season testing and the early races. In fact, the chassis FW47 modernization has already been completed, as all efforts are now focused on preparing for 2026, a year that the team is pinning very high hopes on.
Time will tell to what extent these hopes will come true, but for now, nothing prevents everyone from coming together and organizing a celebration for themselves, which included not only this photo but also demonstration runs. Carlos Sainz drove one of the current generation cars, and team principal James Vowles took the wheel of the historic Williams FW08 — the car with which Keke Rosberg won the championship in 1982.
Of course, the team dreams of new victories, and James Vowles has a very positive attitude toward this: "I believe I’m doing one of the best jobs in the world. Many aspire to become the leader of the Williams team, and I also dreamed of it. And now I’ve become part of this organization, which is highly motivated and determined to fight for wins.
And when everything is going well, i.e., both drivers are cooperating properly, earning points for the team, and you manage to improve the car’s efficiency, all work processes are running smoothly, and you see real results – it creates an excellent mood!.."
It’s better not to dwell on the fact that not everything works out immediately — after all, this is a celebration, which Williams simply called: Factory Festival — a term that can be translated as “factory festival.”
