In the second session, the Silverstone stands filled up completely. Friday evening's program was interesting – qualifying for youth series, the second Formula 1 practice session, and a concert. Drivers did not stay in the pits, continuing their work from the day.

In the second practice, teams focused on setup and tire performance evaluation. Pirelli brought one step softer compounds, and during the session, drivers set faster times than last year. A gusty wind caused several interruptions of attempts.

Sainz was spun around by the wind gust, returning dangerously to the track and nearly colliding with Hamilton; after the session, officials reviewed the incident and issued Carlos an official warning.

The top time was set by Lando Norris, with a lap of 1:25.816.

In the first session, two drivers participated in their first official weekend session. Arvin Lindblad took the wheel of Yuki Tsunoda’s car – Helmut Marko decided to test his most promising rookie immediately in a Red Bull Racing car, while Paul Arons, by agreement between Alpine and Sauber, drove Nico Hülkenberg’s car.

There were many spectators already on Friday – many arrived on Thursday and camped near the track – the weather was excellent, and the weekend's program was quite busy.

Teams prepared new components for the British round, dedicating the first practice to assessing their effectiveness. Many brought new floor designs – Red Bull Racing had only one, tested by Max Verstappen, who was not fully satisfied. Aston Martin brought the most innovations, hoping for significant progress on their home track.

There were some incidents. Gasly and Bottas spun, Sainz, Leclerc, and Hamilton went off track. In the second half of the session, drivers switched to Soft tires, and speeds increased, but overall pace was similar to last year.

The best time was set by Lewis Hamilton with a lap of 1:26.892.
