Vasseur praises the 'stability' in Ferrari's WEC team.

      "One of the strengths of the Le Mans team is its stability."

      As uncertainty surrounds Frederic Vasseur, the beleaguered Ferrari chief praised the recent Le Mans success of his former associate Robert Kubica. While Christian Horner has been mentioned as a candidate, the leading contender to possibly succeed Vasseur for 2026 and onward is Antonello Coletta, who currently oversees Ferrari's successful World Endurance Championship efforts. "It is expected that Vasseur's position is being questioned," claims Luigi Perna from La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Coletta's name, the person behind Ferrari's success at Le Mans, is being considered as a potential replacement, and that’s not surprising. John Elkann’s confidence in him is at an all-time high, while Vasseur, with his contract nearing expiration, is facing scrutiny for the team's stagnation and some questionable internal decisions."

      Kubica, whose career was severely impacted by arm injuries sustained during a rally in 2011, triumphed in the prestigious 24-hour endurance race over the weekend driving a Ferrari hypercar. Vasseur acknowledged the 40-year-old Polish driver's achievement. "I have a strong bond with Robert," he stated. "He was with me at Alfa Romeo for two years and prior to that in Formula Renault. What he has been able to accomplish is remarkable. I recall when (Kimi) Raikkonen had COVID, Robert stepped into the car at Zandvoort on Saturday morning and in that tight pitlane he struggled to turn the steering wheel and engage the clutch. He hadn’t driven the car that year, but he fought with (Sebastian) Vettel until the very last corner in that race. It was extraordinary. He has had a challenging career, but reflecting on the dedication he has shown makes me genuinely pleased with the result he achieved," Vasseur remarked.

      In light of his own uncertain future at Ferrari, Vasseur proposed a theory on the WEC team's thriving performance. "I believe one of the key advantages for the Le Mans team is its stability," he remarked. "The consistency and the expertise of those leading the team play a crucial role. This stability is highly beneficial."

      Regarding the unrest in the F1 team, Lewis Hamilton left Canada acknowledging that he was purposefully remaining silent about his insights. "There are things I would like to share with you, but I can't," the seven-time world champion stated. "There are many issues occurring behind the scenes. My goal is to positively influence the changes for sustainable success."
