Sainz: There are times when nothing works out.
Initially, Carlos Sainz's career at Williams was going well, but now he is clearly going through a crisis, losing to his teammate in qualifying and racing. The Spaniard admitted that the results really did not meet expectations.
Carlos Sainz: "There are times in a racing driver's career when nothing works out. This is exactly the kind of period I'm going through right now. I don't know if it's bad luck or just that things aren't working out, but I'm trying to stay optimistic.
I've adapted to the car, it's got speed. I'm comfortable, I feel like I'm helping the team and myself with what I brought with me to Williams, but for some reason, the results don't match expectations, even though the lap time and speed are in place.
I'm trying to stay positive, but it's just a period in my career when nothing works out. Maybe I just need a good result to move on. I hope the second half goes better. I am sure that we can achieve much more than we are showing now."
