Red Bull is asking for a super license for Lindblad

According to The Race, next week the FIA will consider Red Bull's request to grant a super license to Arvid Lindblad, a participant in the youth program.

Lindblad has enough points to get a super license, but he won't turn 18 until August 8, and Red Bull wants to be able to use him in Formula 1 before that date, if necessary.

Last year, a clause was added to the FIA's International Sports Code allowing 17-year-old athletes to receive a super license if they demonstrate exceptional talent. It was this clause that allowed Andrea Kimi Antonelli to receive a license in 2024, and now Lindblad will receive it.

The decision to grant a super license to a British pilot with Indian and Swedish roots will be made by the FIA World Motorsport Council at an extraordinary general assembly and conference in Macau next week.
