"We have no plans to sell the Alpine team."

Renault CEO Luca de Meo has reiterated that the Alpine Formula 1 team remains secure under the French automaker’s management. From an outsider's perspective, the Enstone-based team has seemed quite disorganized in recent years, with key personnel frequently leaving and being replaced, the works engine project being discontinued, Flavio Briatore gaining a position of influence, and contentious driver changes taking place.

Amid this chaos, there have been persistent rumors that controlling shareholder Renault might consider withdrawing entirely, though CEO de Meo has continually dismissed these claims. While presenting the new Alpine A390 electric SUV, the 57-year-old CEO addressed yet another inquiry from Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the future of the F1 team.

"I would like to use this opportunity with Gazzetta dello Sport to emphasize that we have no intention of selling the Alpine team or exiting Formula 1," he asserted. "Competition is central to Alpine’s strategy," de Meo added, "and Renault has the resources to face it.

"We have a team that is diligently working to achieve the results it deserves, we are proudly participating in the Dakar with Dacia, we have secured our first podiums in the World Endurance Championship, and we are continuing on this F1 journey."
